Short Bio
Alicia Eastes completed her Bachelors Degree in RTF at UT in 2006, and worked as a freelance editor for the next four years. In 2011, she entered the Screenwriting MFA program at UT and completed her Masters Degree in Screenwriting, her dream, in 2014. She interned with Rebecca McInroy at KUT and helped launch the show, Two Guys on Your Head. She also interned with Richard Linklater at Detour in Spring 2015, the year they were nominated for an Oscar, leading to work on the American Masters Documentary, Linklater: Dream is Destiny. She conceived her daughter while on that project, so following Linklater's example, she founded a local chapter of Women in Film and Television Austin, to support her career progress in 2018. Her writing has advanced to finals in the NOFF script contest, and she's been contracted for publication of a memoir.
